Robert Swinson BDS (Newcastle) GDC no. 65473

Robert SwinsonRobert Swinson qualified in Newcastle in 1990 and enjoys providing modern dentistry. He worked in a couple of dental practices before starting Hilltop Dental Practice in Cheltenham with his wife in 1998.

He regularly attends post graduate training to ensure that his patients receive the best dental treatment. His aim is to ensure that they can enjoy and rely on a health stable mouth, using the best techniques and materials that are available. One of his main interests is the treatment of the jaw joint (the TMJ). These problems can often cause headaches and neck pain that have not been previously diagnosed.

He is a member of the Gloucester Independent Dentists, British Society for Occlusal Studies and the British Dental Association. He is currently the chairman of the local Gloucatershire branch of the British Dental Association and has served on the Local Dental Committee.

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, walking, cycling and sailing.

Gillian Swinson BDS (Newcastle) GDC No. 65438 gillian

Gillian qualified from Newcastle Dental School in 1990. She, with husband Robert, set up Hilltop Dental Practice in 1998 when they moved to Cheltenham with their very young family. Their youngest was at the time 4 days old!

Gillian has two roles at Hilltop; dentist and as Practice Manager. She helps the smooth running of Practice alongside Robert.

Being a member of Gloucestershire Independent Dentists, attending lectures run by them and the British Dental Association, she keeps up with the ever-changing world of dentistry.

Out of work Gillian is a keen walker – her dog is well exercised! – and she tolerates fair weather sailing.

Laura Wilbraham (Sheffield) GDC No. 80926

Laura WilbrahamLaura Wilbraham qualified in 2002 from the University of Sheffield. She started work in General Dental Practice before moving into Hospital and Community Dental Services for a couple of years to gain additional experience. She has been working full time in General Practice since January 2008 and joined Hilltop Dental Practice in Cheltenham in June 2010.

Laura has completed various postgraduate qualifications including the Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery Examination (2006) and the FGDP Diploma in Restorative Dentistry (2010).

Laura enjoys providing high quality dentistry in a caring manner. In her free time she likes sailing, windsurfing and running.

Patrick Greer BDS (Liverpool) GDC No. 62797

Patrick Greer qualified as a dentist in 1987 from the University of Liverpool. After qualifying he worked in a dental hospital in restorative dentistry and oral surgery. In 1991 he moved into general practice. He became the owner of his own private practice in 1996. He has been caring for patients in Cheltenham since 2006. He will spend part of his time teaching at Bristol Dental Hospital and the rest of his time looking after patients here at Hilltop Dental Practice in Cheltenham

He is committed to ensuring patients receive the highest stand of care. Patrick is a member of the British Endodontic Society, SAAD (Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry), the Eastman Academy, Gloucester Independent Dentists and the Oxford Society for Oral Implantology, for which he is also a demonstrator on the Implantology Year Course. Patrick’s special interests include sedation and implantology.

Outside of dentistry Patrick is a huge aviation enthusiast both in gliding and general aviation. He is a fully qualified Gliding Instructor and an advanced Aerobatic Instructor anda memmber of the British Gliding Association.

Our Hygienist

Claire Bowes (GDC No. 3986)

Claire joined Hilltop Dental Practice in Cheltenham in 2010.

Previously Claire was in the Royal Air Force. She started after school attending The Institute Of Dental Health and Training, RAF Halton, qualifying as a Dental Hygienist in 1990.

She has worked in general practice for over 20 years particularly enjoying treating nervous patients and making a positive difference to patients oral health. Her aims are to educate patients to help them prevent dental diseases.

Claire has a young family and in her limited spare time enjoys cooking, reading and upcycling old furniture.
